I like catching bugs in Skyward Sword. I didn’t think I would. I’m not even sure why I’m doing it; maybe you get a prize or an upgrade or something. The interesting thing is that it gets you to pay attention to the environment.

Picking flowers in Oblivion did not have this effect, presumably because the flowers aren’t at all hard to see or get. You see flowers, you go over, you hit a button. Zelda makes you actually move the net to catch the bug without scaring it off. Plus, when you catch one there’s a little description that avoids actually using the words “dung beetle”.
